Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized board. Additionally, applicants should possess basic computer knowledge and be proficient in the local language of the postal circle they are applying to.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years

Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms:

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 10 years

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS Male Candidates: ₹100
  • Female, SC/ST, PwD, and Transwomen Candidates: Exempted

Steps to Apply Online

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
  2. Registration: Click on the “Registration” link and fill in the required details to obtain a unique registration number.
  3. Fee Payment: If applicable, pay the application fee using the provided payment options.
  4. Apply Online: Log in using your registration number and submit the application form by providing the necessary details and uploading required documents.
  5. Submit and Print: After completing the application, submit it and print a copy for future reference.

Selection Process

The selection process is merit-based, relying on the marks obtained in the 10th standard. No written examination will be conducted. A system-generated merit list will be prepared based on the applicants’ academic performance.

Salary Details

The Time-Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) for various GDS posts is as follows:

Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak₹10,000 – ₹24,470

In addition to the TRCA, GDS employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance and other benefits as per government norms.
